Meet Darren Bagley-Heath

Darren has lived In Savannah Georgia since 2011. Savannah is one of four areas of outstanding beauty that he considers himself to have been lucky to reside in. Born and raised in the United Kingdom on the historic boundary of Staffordshire and Worcestershire, he moved to East Anglia in 1986 and spent a decade living in Wivenhoe, a small haven nestled in the estuary of the river Colne near the Essex/Suffolk border . Darren earned his Real Estate Sales License in January of 2016 and his Real Estate Instructors’ License in the fall of 2017. He then spent the first two and half years as the sole agent with an independent brokerage acting as both sales agent and property manager. The global recognition of the E & V brand and the opportunity for professional development within an international organization led Darren to join Engel & Völkers Savannah Office. Darren has been married to his bride Irene since 2000, he is a step parent, former foster parent and adoptive parent to many dogs, birds and fish. Darren & Irene purchased the 1903 Wessels-Boyd house in the Victorian District of downtown Savannah, which required an extensive renovation when purchased. This home has turned out to be the most satisfying ongoing project he has engaged in to date; far surpassing the custom build he commissioned in 2007 in Osterville MA. Darren was recognized in 2017 by the Georgia Dept of Education with the Parent Leadership Award for his volunteer work within the Chatham County School system and is currently serving as Commissioner with the City of Savannah Cultural Affairs Department.

Outside the Office

Darren Bagley-Heath is, by his own admission, an aspiring flaneur. When he is not in the classroom you will likely find him deep in a Motorsport broadcast, cheering on the Georgia Southern Eagles, or catching a Savannah Ghost Pirates game with the kind of enthusiasm that suggests he takes his sports very seriously. One of his favorite traditions is hitting the road with his son to catch live 80s hair metal bands. There is something about a wall of guitars and a shared love of music that makes for the best kind of father and son bonding. His wife knows better than to hand Darren the GPS on a road trip. The two of them have a well established habit of ignoring the suggested route in favor of the road less traveled, which has led to some of their most memorable adventures together. Midweek lunch dates with her are a cherished ritual he protects fiercely. Before real estate, Darren owned an award winning restaurant on Cape Cod and spent years as a social worker, two chapters of his life that shaped the way he connects with people and shows up for his students. Born in the UK, rooted in Savannah since 2011, and endlessly curious about the world, Darren brings that same spirit of exploration and discovery into everything he does.
